Kohui
Kohui explores relationships connected to sound through the act of sensing it. Observing natural phenomena, forms, and methods, he constructs algorithms that create relationships between predictability and unpredictability. He reconstructs these relationships, expanding how sound is perceived and shaping perspectives on nature, humanity, and sound.
He has presented audiovisual performances at WeSA Festival, ACT Festival, SICMF, MUTEK Montreal, and MUTEK X INSCAPE and exhibited in group shows at the National Asia Culture Center, Seoul Museum of Art, Platform-L, and Dialog(). He was selected as a HYUNDAI ZER01NE Creator in 2022 and co-founded the artist collective TAKA. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Korea National University of Arts.
고휘는 소리를 감각하는 행위를 중심으로, 소리와 연결될 수 있는 관계를 탐구한다. 자연 현상, 형태, 방식을 관찰하며 알고리즘을 설계하고, 예측 가능성과 예측 불가능성 사이에서 관계를 만든다. 그는 관계를 재구성하며 소리를 감각하는 방식을 확장하고, 자연, 인간, 소리에 대한 관점을 구축한다.
고휘는 WeSA Festival, ACT Festival, SICMF, MUTEK Montreal, MUTEK X INSCAPE 등 국내외에서 다양한 오디오비주얼 퍼포먼스를 진행하였으며, 서울시립미술관, 국립아시아문화전당, 플랫폼엘, Dialog() 등 다수의 그룹전에 참여하여 작품을 선보였다. 2022년 현대 ZER01NE 크리에이터로 선정되었으며, 2024년 아티스트 콜렉티브 TAKA를 설립했다. 또한 그는 한국예술종합학교 겸임교수로 역임한 바가 있다.

TAKA
TAKA is a collective of three artists: Kohui, Cho Yeji and Cho Hyunseo. They are based at the space 'SAKA' located in Dongnimmun, Seoul. They experiment with the possibilities of in-between spaces that emerge at the intersections of previously defined separate elements. This includes the spaces between the immaterial and material, human and non-human, and different genres. They convey intuitive senses through various media such as systems, screens and objects.
TAKA는 고휘, 조예지, 조현서 3명의 멤버로 결성된 콜렉티브로, 독립문에 위치한 스튜디오 공간 ‘SAKA’에 기반을 두고 있습니다. 비물질과 물질, 인간과 비인간, 장르간의 융합 등 서로 다른 것들이 교차하는 지점에서 발생하는 중간 지점의 가능성을 실험하고 다양한 매체들을 사용하여 직관적인 감각을 전달합니다.
